꽤 오랜 시간동안, (참 어리석게도) 영화 대사처럼 "...난 앞으로 내가 느낄 감정을 벌써 다 경험해 버린게 아닐까. 그리고 여기서부터는 앞으로는 쭉, 내가 정말로 느꼈던 그 감정에서 좀 축소된 감정들만 느끼며, 그렇게 새로운 감정은 하나도 없게 되는 건 아닐까." 라고 느끼며 살았던 것 같다. 이번 여행은- 그렇지 않음을 깨달을 수 있어, 그것만으로도 충분히 의미있는 시간이었다. 아무런 기대없이, 계획없이 떠난, 아직 가을이 그리 숙성되지 않은 곳에서 마주한 여러가지의 아름다움과 감동. 매일 꼭두새벽공기를 마시며 나섰던 길, 갑자기 원령공주나 토토로가 튀어나와도 전혀 이상하지 않을 것 같은 풍경 속에서, 또 돌의 정원에서, 이끼정원에서, 모래정원에서, 발걸음을 옮길 때마다 다른 시야를 선물하는
엄마의 U.K.
i. 엄마가 여행을 기억하시는 법. 밤새워 그리시며 재밌게 작업하셨다고 사진을 보내오셨다. (Arthur's seat 앞을 걸어가는 건 우리 남매라신다. 한켠에는 오빠네 집까지.) 테이블 구석구석 함께 한 시간과 추억들이 녹아들었다. 테이블 밖 배경에는 엄마가 키우신 꽈리들이 있다. ii. 엄마를 닮아가려는 오빠에게 생일 선물로 스케치북을 보냈다. 멋지게 이름도 새겨서. iii. 일상의 풍경이 크게 바뀌기 전, 늘 여행을 떠났다. 오래오래 많이 걷고, 뭔가 혼자 조용히 생각할 수 있는 시간을 보낼 수 있는 곳으로. 비행기 표를 샀다. (휴가를 이미 많이 써버려 더 길게 떠나지 못하는게 아쉽다.) 마치 또 바뀌게 될 일상의 풍경을 맞이하기 전, 의식을 치루는 기분이다.
