떠나는 날, 조퇴 후 막바지에 짐을 싸면서 각종 생각에 몇번이나 눈물을 훔쳤다. 그에 이내 나른해진 몸으로 비행기에 올랐지만, 머릿속으로는 또 바쁘게 4개의 다른 time zone들을 계산하며 내가 어딨는지, 어디로 가고 있는지 떠올리고 정신줄을 붙들어 매야했다. 하와이에 도착하자 날 반긴건 운전사분의 알로하~ 인사와 lei. 덕분에 장시간의 비행과 피곤에 절어있는 내게 하루종일 아주 진한 이국적 꽃향기가 났다. (팁을 드리려고 돈을 쥐고 앉아있는데, 다른 분이 타신 후 차가 출발했다...) 창 밖으로 보이는 풍경은 도미니카공화국을 연상케했다. 그리고 곳곳에 보이는 한인교회들. 어딜가나 교회수가 참 많다고 느끼며 나도 모르게 인상을 찌뿌리다가, 유럽 곳곳의 수많은 성
