[R.I.P] John Sykes
John Sykes (29 July 1959 – January 2025) 씬 리지, 타이거스 오브 팬탱, 블루 머더, 화이트 스네이크 등 굵직굵직한 그룹에서 활동하며 초절기교와 감성의 완벽한 밸런스가 돋보이는 기타 연주를 선보였던 존 사이크스가 65세를 일기로 세상을 떠났네요. 지금도 전 세계적으로 2500만장 이상이 판매된 화이트스네이크가 1987년 공개한 명반 앨범에서 그의 연주가 생생하게 떠 오르는데 그가 세상을 떠나다니 너무 안타깝고 마음이 울적하네요. 오늘 퇴근길에 그의 작품들을 감상해야겠네요. Rest in Peace.
